Description

The movement of Jupiter's satellites today offered a great opportunity to do an animation image. Double transit of moons, shadow projection, occultation ...Unfortunately I was not prepared to capture the data in the ideal time and then all I had left was to acquire only 4 videos of 60s, of which one gave me this image.

We can see Ganymede prominently on the planet Jupiter, in a very dark hue, apparently above normal, but I believe that due to an illusion because observation is against the bright planet as background.

Almost leaving the planet and already very distorted is the projected shadow, not of Ganymede, but of Europe. This shadow is a good evidence that Europa is there, even so well camouflaged against Jupiter's surface. If anyone ventured to search for Europe, it was in transit over NEB, arriving "on the right side" just where the atmospheric disturbances begin to become more detailed.
